Fall Break Part 1

Avery's school had a two week fall intercession at the beginning of this month. My crazy brain thought it was a brilliant idea to DRIVE by myself with the kids from Arizona to Oregon to spend the two weeks with Erik's side of the family. One of my best friends from college lives in the San Francisco Bay area (which is half-way from here to Oregon), so we took one day to get there and rest and then the next day to get to Oregon. On the way home, we spent a full day with Terra's family and everyone had so much fun.

Avery got car sick on the drive up, and Ethan got really car sick on the drive back home. Let's just say that we don't have that car seat anymore. Despite all of that, the long drive was worth seeing our family. We got to meet our brand new niece Brinley. She was just a few days old when we first saw her. The weather was perfect, and I even got to wear some of my fall clothes (that went out the window when we got back home). The kids had the BEST time playing with their cousins, Bode, Grammy and Papa, and aunts and uncles. Avery cried the day we had to leave Grammy's house. She was going to miss everyone too much. It's a good thing that Grammy and Papa will be here visiting us next week!

The kids were overjoyed to see Bode again.  Poor Bode put up with a lot of rough-housing from Ethan.

Avery and Halle quickly became good friends.  They have so much in common including a love for writing and drawing.

I can already picture them sharing a dorm room at BYU like me and Terra.

 

Avery and Halle first met when they were babies.  They are 5 months apart in age.
