swimming lessons

Avery started swimming lessons on Tuesday. Her best friend is in her class, which has helped her be less nervous about being there. The idea of a pool being warm and indoors blew Avery's mind. There are 5 kids total in the class, and the teacher is really good with them. They practiced kicking, moving their arms, and jumping in. At the end, they all got to swim with a noodle on their own. This apparently boosted Avery's confidence so high that she thought she could even swim without the noodle. Of course she sank, but the teacher was right there to pull her up. She didn't even mind getting water on her face; anyone wh0 knows Avery will realize what a huge deal this is. Avery had the best time and can't wait to go swimming next week.

first look at the pool

Avery's swim suit from last summer is definitely too small.

Ella and Avery with their friends. There are bleachers poolside, but the parents are asked to sit in a viewing area just outside of the pool.

let the swimming begin!

My camera battery died right after taking this picture, so you'll have to stay tuned for action pictures next week.

Ella looks so grown up all of a sudden (in spite of stuffing stuff in her one-sie).

That is so cool!!! How much do you pay for lessons out there. I need to get the kids back in swimming lessons too.

She goes at the boys and girls club. it was $20 for the membership and $72 for the 8 week session. It's really worth it. Avery is having a blast.
